Historian Gary Midkiff joins us on a Monday afternoon to talk about 9 women you probably have not heard of – but each of the 9 broke barriers and made our country better. One risked her life to improve conditions for immigrants sailing to Ellis Island. Another stood her ground when voting her conscience in the U.S. House of Representatives. Three of them fought prejudice against intelligent black women. Another organized the U.S. Sanitary Commission, which helped the Union during the U.S. Civil War.
